Welcome! I am excited to be joining the Riverhawk team this year as a 3rd grade teacher. This will be my second year teaching, but my first year officially at Woodlawn. I did my student teaching at Woodlawn, and am so happy to be back as part of the staff. This is a second career for me, and I am very happy with my decision to become an educator! The things I have loved most are getting to build relationships with my students and creating a positive, fun, and caring environment for them to come to each day to learn.

Outside of teaching, I have a husband who teaches at KU, a 9 year old son who is obsessed with soccer, and a 13 year old daughter who can beat her father on their 3 mile runs and then head out for 'just a couple more miles'. Our family also includes a basset hound named Arlo who thinks he is a cat, his BFF Winni, who is a cat that thinks she is a dog, and our other cat Luna, who would much prefer us to be a one-pet family. My favorite things to do are read, watch my kids at their sports, read, go on hikes with my family, read, sleep in on the weekends, and ..... have I mentioned read?

I cannot wait to meet everyone. I'm looking forward to a wonderful year!
