Hello!  My name is Kristy and I am elated to be the school secretary at Langston Hughes!

While this is my first year at Langston, I am no stranger to LPS. As a life-long Douglas County resident, I attended Wakarusa Valley, South Junior High (Now Billy Mills Middle School) and Southwest Junior High. In 2000 I graduated from Lawrence High (Stand up and Cheer!).  After graduation, I attended Pratt Community College and Kansas State University where I dual majored in Agricultural Journalism and Animal Science. 

My family and I live in rural Douglas County on our farm.  My daughter is a student in LPS, and very active in the 4-H program and showing livestock.  When not hauling our daughter to all her activites and livestock shows, I enjoy being on my farm; just about any outdoor activity, especially gardening; attending livestock shows; Photography; K-State Football, and serving as a volunteer emergency medical responder.

I am so excited about this school year and working with all these Bobcat Students!
