Four outstanding Lawrence Public Schools educators have been recognized by the University of Kansas School of Education and Human Sciences as recipients of the 2026 John Wilson & Mollie Mitchell Tickets for Teachers Award.

The Lawrence Board of Education approved school calendars for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years at its February 9 meeting, following a recommendation from the district's Calendar Committee. The calendars are designed to provide consistency across grade levels, align with the University of Kansas spring break, and offer families more predictability when planning ahead.
