Amanda Torbett's Geometry in Construction class at Lawrence Free State High School applied their construction knowledge in the field by revitalizing the agricultural space at Douglas County Youth Services with a brand new greenhouse.

Lawrence Public Schools is proud to celebrate Southwest Middle School student Maci Perrins, who represented Douglas County at the Kansas State Spelling Bee and tied for fourth place among top spellers from across the sunflower state.

Lawrence Public Schools recently welcomed several local farmers and producers to a roundtable conversation hosted by the district’s Nutrition & Wellness Department. This work is part of the district’s broader Farm 2 School efforts, which connect local food, school gardens, and hands-on learning experiences to support student health and learning.
