Over 100 student delegates from middle schools across Lawrence convened at Southwest Middle School for All-City Model United Nations Day.
We are excited to announce that we are now taking applications for the new preschool classrooms at Sunflower Elementary School and Woodlawn Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year, along with our preschool programs at Kennedy Early Childhood Center and New York Montessori.
Southwest Middle School and Sunflower Elementary School students demonstrated their everyday learning process by co-hosting an AVID Showcase for about 30 visiting educators from other school districts, as well as a few Lawrence school board members, administrators, and teachers.
Congratulations to the Kansas Scholastic Press Association's 2025 Student Photographer of the Year, Anders Benson, co-photo editor of Free State's Talon yearbook and to Free State's Free Press and Free Press Online which won All-Kansas Awards.
Travelers across Lawrence excitedly grabbed their passports and flocked to Sunflower Elementary School for a trip around the world during Sunflower International Night.
"Oohs" and "ahs" were in no short supply at Lawrence High School for their annual Career and Technical Education Innovation Expo.

Another year means another Field Day at New York Elementary! Teachers, students, friends, family, and community members took to the playground to play and compete in all kinds of events.
Things were heating up in Chef Rose Barry's Culinary 2 classes at Lawrence High School as students competed to create a new meal for the school's lunch menu.
