Hiring Process

The Lawrence Public Schools accepts electronic applications only. Please view our vacancies and apply here. If you have not already, you will need to create an account so that you may apply in our system. All applications are prescreened by Human Resources and released to principals and hiring administrators. Buildings hire staff directly to their own positions and the timeline varies for each position as to when it will be filled.

Some Hiring Administrators do not wait for positions to close before they begin interviewing. We hire as quickly as possible to be sure we get the most highly qualified candidates as soon as we see them. Please be sure to apply as soon as you can!
 

Interview

Once you have applied, if hiring administrators are interested in considering you for a position they will contact you by phone or email regarding an interview. Please be sure to have correct email and phone numbers listed for yourself in our system.

 
Job Offer
After you have been offered and accepted a position, you will be sent an email from Human Resources with further instructions on required orientations and paperwork. If you have been offered a position and haven't received information from HR within a week, please contact HR at 785-832-5000.
