I am entering my 7th year teaching video and animation at Lawrence High School. I am the sponsor of Room 308 Productions and The Lion's Roar, LHS's student-run news broadcast (new episodes each Monday and Friday). In my classes, we emphasize the power of storytelling above all else. I want to bring to students the high school experience I wanted to have -- one where you can bring your creative ideas to life through cinematography, editing, sound design, animation and most importantly, sharing important and personal stories. Check out our YouTube Channel to check out the diverse, award-winning projects my students have created.

My favorite quote about filmmaking comes from my favorite film critic, Roger Ebert:

"For me, the movies are like a machine that generates empathy. If it’s a great movie, it lets you understand a little bit more about what it’s like to be a different gender, a different race, a different age, a different economic class, a different nationality, a different profession, different hopes, aspirations, dreams and fears. It helps us to identify with the people who are sharing this journey with us. And that, to me, is the most noble thing that good movies can do and it’s a reason to encourage them and to support them and to go to them.”
