Hi my name is Mrs. Heather Wilson and this is my 8th year at New York Elementary.  I'm currently on the 5th^th grade team! I just know this year is going to be fun filled and full of adventures! I want to get to know ALL of you, but first I want to tell you a few things about me.

I was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. I have a younger brother named Casey. He lives in Colorado and is the best! I also LOVE my parents and they come to visit a bunch! After graduating high school I went to Baylor for a year. Then I decided that I needed to be closer to home and started attending University of Louisiana at Monroe where I majored in Elementary Education. I went on to get my Master’s in gifted education, at the same school, while serving as a graduate assistant. I was even able to teach a few college classes!!

After graduating college, I taught 1st-5th gifted classes for two years in Shreveport, LA. I then moved to Monroe, LA and taught 4th grade for 4 years. My husband took a job in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and I taught 5th grade for 1 year. After the beach, we moved to the mountains. I taught 3rd grade for six years in Colorado Springs. This is the beginning of my 21st year of teaching!

I met my wonderful husband, Chris, while at ULM and we have now been married for 17 years. He works in commercial real estate in KC. We have a sweet nine-year-old little girl named Lucy and a 4 year old little boy named Crosby. They keep us busy!

I am so thrilled to get to know my “stars” for the year. We are going to shine so brightly this year!!

Favorite football team- New Orleans Saints…becoming a Chiefs fan too!
