You can sign up for a committee on the sign up lists available at the school during Parent/Curriculum Night.
*BINGO Night - Help promote, organize, solicit prize donations, or work at Family BINGO Night.
Book Fair - Help plan for, set up, take down or volunteer to help sell books at our annual book fair.
Box Tops - Help to publicize, create, and submit Box Tops for cash payment back to the school. (Year round)
Carnival - Volunteer to help organize prizes, silent auction, games, concessions, tickets and more! You may also sign up to work at the carnival.
Community Outreach - Help promote, organize, collect and distribute donations for our Adopt-A-Family program.
Direct Donation Campaign - Help with our primary fundraiser for PTO to benefit the teachers, students, and families of Langston Hughes.
Eat 'n' Earn - Publicize these fun nights eating out to benefit our PTO.
Fifth Grade Recognition - Work with other 5th grade families to make this a special year as your 5th grader transitions out of Langston Hughes.
Hospitality & Staff Appreciation - Help thank our teachers and staff by donating food items, ingredients, baked goods, or homemade dishes for special appreciation days, teacher in-service days, and parent/teacher conferences. SignUpGenius.com will be used to email needs for each special event. You choose when and how you'd like to help!
Marathon Club - Volunteer your time on the trails while kids run Monday mornings and/or Wednesday afternoons and help plan the Bobcat Family 5k!
Pancake Dinner - Help promote, organize, or work a shift at our Chris Cakes Family Pancake Dinner.
Room Parents - Parents and guardians in every classroom are invited to help plan or participate in the three PTO-sponsored classroom parties. Room Parents also help coordinate a class-sponsored theme basket for the Carnival Silent Auction.
*School Supplies - Organize the online purchase of school supplies for LHE Families who choose to participate. Supplies are ordered over the summer and delivered for the beginning of the school year.
Science Fair/Science Night - Organize and staff our yearly Science Fair to encourage all of our budding scientists!
Social Media/Website - Keep everyone informed about LH PTO news and updates through approved social media forums and websites.
Special Event Parking Volunteers - Work with school staff to help make parking safe and easy for LH visitors before special events such as Grandparent's Day and Classroom Parties.
Spirit Wear - Collect and organize orders for school spirit wear and then help distribute the orders to students when they arrive.
Square One Art - Work with our art teacher to organize and collect orders for unique student-created art pieces.
*Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) - Calling all Dads, Grandpas, Uncles, and Guardians! Volunteer to spend a day at LHE as a positive role-model helping around the building in classrooms, at recess, lunch, in the office and more!
Yearbook - Help collect pictures and design the LHE yearbook. Collect orders and help to distribute yearbooks when they arrive.
