Our students wear scrubs during pre-game and in the stands of home football games. This protects the white pants for their wonderful half time performance. After each football game, we need volunteers to wash the scrubs. Each volunteer will take one rubbermaid tub of scrubs (about one load of laundry), wash and fold them, and return them to the band room by the following Tuesday rehearsal.
The water committee works together to make sure our students are well hydrated during their performances - football half times and festivals. Each football game requires 16 cases of water and each festival requires 24 cases of water. The committee chair will purchase the water at a discount from HyVee and have it available for pick up on Tuesday evening. You or your student will take 2 cases home and put it in your cooler. On the day of the performance, you will put ice on the water bottles and deliver it to the high school at the appropriate time and place.
This committee will work together to plan and organize fundraisers. We'll have a few opportunities to "eat and earn", a bag sale just in time for the holidays and wrap up the school year with a mattress sale. How exciting!
This committee works together to put information in the summer school newsletter mailing with information regarding the purchase of a full school directory. The office provides the information, and the band facilitates the printing and distribution of the school directories as a fundraiser for the band program. Once printed, there may be a need to provide opportunities for FSHS parents to purchase them beyond the pre-order in the summer.
Food 4 the Road
Food 4 the Road committee works to plan and provide a meal at the festivals.
Let the committe know of any special dietary needs here.
This Committee works together to build pride and excitement for the bands. They decorate lockers for the fall and spring season, pack snack bags for the festivals, and help celebrate the achievements of our band members.
This Committee is responsible for arranging senior activities including Senior Night during football season, locker decorating in December, and organizing receptions after the winter and spring concerts.
The Pit Crew helps with the band moving on and off the field during performances. They will set up the drum major ladders and help the front ensemble get set up before half time performances and festival competitions.
This Committee organizes and facilitates the sale of t-shirts, sweatshirts, vinyl clings, water bottles, lanyards and yard signs. This is done at Parents’ Night in August and as needed throughout the year.
These people take pictures and video of the performances. Video is used to help the band improve their performance throughout the season as well as look back in years to come.
