Welcome students, families and colleagues! 
My name is Rachel Johnson (formerly Norland), and I am an Elementary Art Teacher at Woodlawn Elementary and part time at Pinckney Elementary. I have had the pleasure of teaching in the Lawrence Public School District since August of 2014. 

As an art teacher, I am continuously working to foster a classroom environment that is safe, inviting and diverse to the learning needs of all. I truly care about my students and make a conscious effort to note their individual differences and strengths.  I believe art can empower and inspire students, and in turn foster a positive association towards learning.  Art is such an important tool for life-long exploration! I know I have found a home, a niche and a purpose teaching within the Lawrence Public School District and I look forward to the many exciting years to come.
