My teaching journey began when I was quite young. I was that kid who held school in my basement for the neighborhood children, and knew at an early age that when I grew up, I would teach. As predicted, I have done just that for the past twenty plus years. From elementary to high school, I have taught nearly every grade level possible. The bulk of my career was spent teaching at the military high school in Salina. What an experience!
I’m a relative newby to Lawrence, having moved here in 2007 from Salina in order to finish my graduate degree from Washburn University. I have the greatest job in the world! Working with the staff, parents, and most especially, the students of Southwest is the crowning achievement of my career. I am blessed to call Southwest Middle School my home.
