My name is Tracy Murray, and I have been a member of the LHS faculty since 2000. I started my teaching career at LHS and have never wanted to teach anywhere else. In my years at LHS, I have taught Survey US History, AP US History, Modern World History, and various directed studies courses. I currently teach Ancient World History and AP European History. I am also the current Social Studies Department Chair. I hold a BS in secondary education and an MSE in Curriculum and Instruction. I earned both of my degrees at The University of Kansas. I love what I do because daily I get to learn from my students. Daily they challenge me to think about the world in new ways, and I hope I do the same for them. My appreciation and love of history continually expose me to new ideas and information, and I sincerely appreciate that opportunity. Hermann Hesse once said, “To study history means submitting to chaos and nevertheless retaining faith in order and meaning.”
