My name is Megan Bland. I was born in Lawrence and grew up in Eudora. I graduated from Lawrence High School in 1995 and have a degree in education from Washburn University. After I graduated from Washburn, I moved to Houston, Texas to start my teaching career. I taught first grade for 8 years in an urban school setting. Once my husband and I had our son, we knew it was time to move back home to Lawrence. This will be my 12th year at Deerfield and my 20th year teaching first grade. I am married and have a son who will be an 8th grader at West Middle School.
