Hall Pass Visitor Identification System

  • For the 2024-2025 school year, the Lawrence Board of Education has purchased Hall Pass, a visitor identification system. This system will proactively protect schools by increasing security measures and safeguarding students and staff from potential dangers.

    How Hall Pass Works
School office staff will ask visitors for identification, such as a driver's license or other government-issued ID. If a visitor doesn't have identification, the school will ask for the visitor's first and last name and date of birth.

School staff will also ask visitors for their destination and the purpose of their visit and take the visitor's photo. Visitors will only need to present ID and have their photo taken once at any of our campuses districtwide. The system will store this information for subsequent visits to our campuses.

The Hall Pass system uses visitors' identification to search national sexual offender databases. Time-limited and time- and date-stamped badges with photos will be issued to visitors authorized for school entry. Visitors should wear these badges throughout their visit and return them when leaving the campus.

Hall Pass alerts school administrators, security officials, and/or law enforcement if the system indicates that a visitor may pose a danger by gaining access to a school campus. Non-authorized visitors may not enter our schools.

Our first priority is maintaining safe and secure learning environments for all students and staff. We also want our schools to be welcoming places for our school communities. This technology enhances our existing safety and security measures and assists us in proactively addressing potential concerns.
