My law enforcement career started in 2003 with the Topeka Police Department, where I was assigned as a School Resource Officer at Bishop Elementary School for one year and Topeka High School for three years. Currently, I am a Corporal with the Lawrence Police Department and am assigned as a School Resource Officer at Lawrence Free State High School. While in my first year as a School Resource Officer at Lawrence Free State High School, I received the Hometown Hero Award for my dedication to the students.
I have served as a Negotiator for the Crisis Response Team, Field Training Officer, Training Coordinator, Peer Support Member, and Department Instructor throughout my law enforcement career. I obtained my Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Washburn University in 2015 and am currently enrolled at Liberty University to obtain a PhD in Criminal Justice Leadership in 2024.
A strong believer in building relationships with the community, I serve on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence. I am also the Vice President of Sheep Dog Impact Assistance, a National non-profit that exists to engage, assist, and empower our Nation’s military and first responders.
