Eligibility at LHS
To be eligible for sports participation a student must meet the following criteria:1) The student shall have passed a minimum of five (5) new classes the semester prior tothe beginning of the season of sport2) The student shall be currently enrolled in a minimum of five (5) new classes during thecurrent season of sport3) The Student shall be a bona fide student
What does this mean?1) The previous semester the student-athlete passed a minimum of five classes during the regular course of the semester.NOTE: Credit recovery courses, courses completed during night school and summer school do NOT count towards athletic eligibility but they WILL help you graduate on time!Fall Athletes: This means the previous spring semester you must have passed a minimum of five classesWinter Athletes: This means the previous spring semester you must have passed a minimum of five classesTo remain eligible for S2 competition you must pass a minimum of five classes during fall semester of current yearSpring Athletes: This means you passed a minimum of five classes fall semester of the current year2) During the current semester the student-athlete is enrolled in a minimum of five class NONE of which are: credit recovery or night school.Fall Athletes: This means are enrolled in a minimum of five new classes the entire fall semester , should you drop a class which takes you below the minimum five classes you areimmediately ineligibleWinter Athletes: This means are enrolled in a minimum of five new classes the entire fall and spring semesters and should you drop a class which takes you below the minimum

Playing Sports in College
Are you or your student-athlete thinking about playing sports in college? Choosing a college can be a difficult decision making process. Checking to be sure you are eligible to play sports in college is essential. Check out the eligibility centers of the NCAA and the NAIA for college eligibility requirements and too see what the college athletics experience is like and speak with a Counselor in Student Services. To have a transcript sent to a prospective coach or school a Transcript Release form must be on file with the Lawrence High School Registrar.
