Secondary Mathematics

Middle School
ALL students at the middle school level are required to take a daily math class that meets all year. The mathematics program focuses on preparing students for the future using concepts outlined in the Kansas College and Career Ready Standards.
6th Grade- Math 6 or Introduction to Pre-Algebra (Advanced Course)
7th Grade- Math 7 or Pre-Algebra 7 (Advanced Course)
8th Grade- Pre-Algebra 8 or Algebra 1 (Advanced Course)

Kansas Mathematics Standards Grades K-12 were adopted by the State Board of Education in August 2017.
KSDE Middle School Math Competencies are grade banded documents that will help align the Navigating Change competencies to the 2017 Standards.
High School
Students are required to enroll in mathematics in grades 9, 10, and 11. It is recommended that students take mathematics in grade 12. A total of 3.0 credits are required for graduation.
