Get started with college now!
HIST 128 and HIST 129 are introductory US history classes offered through a partnership between The University of Kansas and Lawrence Public Schools, and will engage students in the active investigation of historical evidence in order to deepen understanding of our world. Students will be reading a variety of both primary and secondary sources as well as writing historical analysis and argumentation. Students will learn how to think more critically and persevere in their academic endeavors, developing the habits of study necessary for success at the college level, while still operating within the supportive structure of meeting daily in small classes.
We will be using The American Yawp as our textbook. A reader with additional primary and secondary sources will be provided.
