K-5th Grade Special Education

Hello, my name is Angela Mathews.  This is my 15th year of teaching and my 9th year with LVS.  This is my sixth year working in the special education department.  I taught second grade in the Liberty School District and preschool at a private early education center before coming to LVS.  While at LVS, I have taught grades 3-4 and 6-8.  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Park University and my Masters of Education from Baker University.  I also earned my Masters in Special Education at Fort Hays State University.  I am currently continuing graduate courses, for a reading specialist endorsement, at Fort Hays State University. 

I live in Parkville, Missouri, with my husband and our three children.  Family and education are my top priorities.  That is why I love working at LVS!   Some other things I enjoy are reading, taking vacations, and getting together with friends or extended family.

Lawrence Virtual School is an amazing place for students to acquire an education that meets their unique needs.  I enjoy getting to know my students and their families while we work together to make school a successful experience!
