    Brandon Young

    Board Member Since 2016

Brandon YOung When Brandon Young was growing up in Wichita, Kan. he was like many kids and didn’t take education too seriously. After graduating high school, he still didn’t appreciate the benefits of education.

“I didn’t value the importance of education until later in life,” Young said. “My first two attempts at college fell short and it wasn’t until I decided I needed to improve how I was living that I saw the importance of having a skill or a degree in my case.”

Young would go on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business at Friends University and is currently a successful commercial relationship manager at INTRUST Bank. With an appreciation of the power of education, Young joined the Lawrence Schools Foundation board in 2016.

“Education of our youth is vital to our community’s and nation’s long-term success,” he said. “I am blessed to be able to play a part in supporting their success.”

Young serves on the Foundation’s finance committee and is in his first year guiding the group as its chair.

“The primary role of our finance committee is to make sure the Foundation has sufficient financial resources to carry out is mission today and in the future,” Young explained.

In his free time, Young enjoys spending time with his wife Brenna, playing golf, working out, wake surfing, reading and supporting KU basketball, KU football and the Kansas City Chiefs.
