Continuing its commitment to local public education, Truity Credit Union presented the Lawrence Schools Foundation with a check for $30,000 recently. Truity is a Master Partner in the Foundation’s Lawrence Education Achievement Partner (LEAP) program.
This fundraising dinner on October 23 supports performing arts experiences for middle and high school students and takes place on the Lied Center Stage. It features one of the performers and is a fun way to support our students and the arts.
This summer the Lawrence Schools Foundation awarded School Assistance Grants, MusicWorks! Grants and Carl Knox Development Grants. This month we recognized the recipients by visiting their schools and presenting those staff members with their checks and principals with their yard signs.
Hamilton Lewis, a 2005 Free State High School graduate and senior pre-visualization Artist at The Third Floor, Inc., will be the keynote speaker for the Lawrence Schools Foundation Community Education Breakfast, Friday, Sept. 15 from 7:30-9 a.m. Sponsorship opportunities and tickets are available.
The Lawrence Schools Foundation has awarded $9,890 in funding for six 2017-18 School Assistance Grants projects. The School Assistance Grants is a program established by the Lawrence Schools Foundation to provide funding for defined areas of use in the Lawrence Public Schools for needs that are not being met with state or federal monies.
