Hello, Pinckney families!
I am so excited to be your new WRAP Specialist! I'm a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kansas, and I previously worked as the Therapeutic Classroom Therapist with middle school and high school students receiving special education services in our district. My practice is rooted in understanding trauma, removing barriers to healing, seeking justice, and by being radically genuine.
Before starting my work in the educational setting in 2018, I was a therapist on the Dialectical Behavior Therapy/Intensive Outpatient Team at Bert Nash. This treatment modality continues to informs my work, including its focus on mindfulness, emotion regulation, self-compassion, and radical acceptance. Additionally, I have experience working with survivors and perpetrators of domestic violence, pregnant and nursing parents and their children, and was a Big Brothers, Big Sisters volunteer for several years.
My passion is working with the entire ecosystem of a person's life, and school is one of the most influential parts of our younger students' worlds. I am grateful to be a part of your school community, and to be another trusted adult who can support all students through their challenges and successes.
