Curriculum and Instruction
Jennifer Bessolo graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor's degree in English and Education, and a Masters degree in Educational Administration. She completed her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in 2013 from the University of Kansas. She has served as a Language Arts teacher and school administrator at both the middle and high school levels in North Carolina and Kansas.
Currently, she serves as Assistant Director of Curriculum and Federal Programs here at Lawrence Public Schools and works with both the Lawrence Virtual School and Lawrence brick and mortar schools in curriculum alignment, instructional resource management, and oversees Title programs across all 21 buildings. She has also served the district as the Middle School Director and Curriculum Director. In addition to her work with the school district, Dr. Bessolo has served as an administrative mentor to new principals within the Kansas Educational Leadership Institute (KELI), teaches graduate coursework at the University of Kansas, and she has presented at both state and national levels on Leadership, Individualized Learning, Curriculum and Instruction.
