Hello! My name is Amanda Davis and I am thrilled to be at Deerfield for my seventh year as one of our learning coaches! It’s going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures, and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store! I grew up just down the road from Lawrence in Baldwin City. Before moving into this position, I taught third grade at Deerfield for four years. Before Deerfield, I spent six years teaching seventh and eighth grade journalism in Topeka at Washburn Rural Middle School. When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my sons, Cohen and Nash, and my husband Kyle. We love cooking, going downtown, trying out new restaurants, and going to KU basketball games! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
I earned my Bachelor’s degrees in elementary education, secondary education, and mass media from Baker University. After graduating from Baker in December of 2010, I focused on teaching a few years before going back to school to work on my Master’s degree. In December of 2016, I graduated from Emporia State University with a Master’s degree in school counseling.
