This is my seventh year at Southwest, my 26th with the Lawrence district.  This year I will teach 6th grade World History and 7th grade Geography and KS History (Social Studies), but have experience in math, social studies, science, health, primary grades and coaching.  While my Bachelor's is in Education with minors in History, Health and Language Arts K-8, my Master's is in Technology in Education, and I am also ESL certified as well.  During a brief (2-year) sojourn to the Western Slope of Colorado, I was trained in and taught Reading First at the primary grades.

 

In 2012 I was honored to be chosen as a Master Teacher by my district and went on to be named a Kansas Master Teacher the following Spring.  Definitely a highlight of my career!

 

I grew up and attended elementary (Hillcrest and Schwegler), junior high (South!) and high school (Lawrence High) here in Lawrence before heading uphill to KU and ultimately graduating from Washburn.
