March 17, 2020 Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced the immediate closure of all schools in Kansas for the remainder of the academic year. As a result, Langston Hughes Elementary and all USD 497 schools will be closed through May 21, 2020. All district activities are cancelled at this time. Kindergarten Enrollment - At this time Kindergarten Orientation Sessions have been canceled due to school closings. We will be mailing out Welcome Packets to parents of students who are registered for the 2020-2021 school year by the end of May. Please be sure your student is registered by enrolling him/her on-line and turning in the required documents. Click the link above to see instructions. The enrollment deadline has been extended to April 20th.
New Student Registration - We are excited to have you join our Langston Hughes family. You will start the process by enrolling your student on-line and then taking the enrollment documents to our district Enrollment Center at 110 McDonald Dr. Lawrence, Ks 66044 Phone: 785-330-1921.
5th Grade Transition to Middle School - Middle Schools are currently in the process of reaching out to 5th gr. student's parents via email to ensure completion of the MS enrollment process. Even if you believe you have completed the enrollment process, you should "click" into the link provided in the email as additional information may be required. The Enrollment deadline has been extended to April 20th.
2020-2021 Annual Registration for Currents Students will open soon - we will send out detailed instructions once Registration opens.
