I grew up in San Salvador, El Salvador and came to KU to study Journalism with a Fulbright scholarship in 1993. After graduation, I went back to El Salvador, married a Kansan, lived in Wichita and then New Rochelle, NY, started a family, and at that point decided to be a teacher, so I came back to KU to get my Master's and Teaching license. I raised my 3 kids in Lawrence and one is still attending LPS.
I have taught at Lawrence High School since 2005, mainly Spanish, but also ESOL (English for Students of Other Languages) when needed. Currently I'm teaching levels 2 and 5, and our new Heritage Spanish class.
