Worksite Wellness Initiative Mission:
To provide the resources, tools and support to LPS employees that will promote life-long wellness to the students, staff, and the supporting community of USD 497.
Eligibility:
All LPS employees are eligible for participation in any wellness program offered through LPS. Additionally, any spouse, dependent age 16 or older, and retiree who has health insurance benefits through LPS’s Coventry Health Care plan is eligible for participation in most wellness programs offered.
Funding:
Funding for the LPS wellness program is sponsored by Coventry Health Care of Kansas.

What is Wellness? Merriam-Webster dictionary online defines wellness as the state of being in good health especially as an actively sought goal. So what is health? The same source defines health as the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit. Additionally, happiness is defined as a state of well-being and contentment.
On the other hand, illness is defined as an unhealthy condition of body or mind. Further, disease is defined as a condition of the living animal or plant body or of one of its parts that impairs normal functioning and is typically manifested by distinguishing signs and symptoms.
As human beings we all wish to have health, wellness and happiness. May our individual pursuits of wellness assist in keeping illness and disease at bay.
