Mathematics

A fundamental principle of our mathematics program is that mathematics is best learned through active solving of real problems.  Students' skills, procedures, and concepts emerge and develop as they solve complex problems based on everyday situations.  The curriculum introduces challenging content at every grade level aligned with state mathematics standards.

K-12 Mathematics

Our program integrates mathematics with many disciplines, especially science and language arts.  Scientific investigations are embedded in many units and literature is often used to launch or extend mathematical investigations.

Students in upper grades are introduced to concepts from the following strands: number and number relationships, number systems and number theory, computation and estimation, patterns and functions, algebra, statistics, probability, geometry, and measurement.
