Built in 1957, Schwegler Elementary School is located in central Lawrence on 7.7 acres of land a few blocks south and west of The University of Kansas' main campus. The school bears the name of Raymond A. Schwegler, former dean of KU’s College of Education from 1907-1946. Schwegler serves 371 students in grades K-6. Beginning in Fall 2007, the school offers a full-day kindergarten program.
Did You Know? Schwegler Elementary sixth-grade teacher Sue Vossler is the 2007-08 Lawrence Elementary Teacher of the Year.
