Established in 1869, New York Elementary School serves 142 students in grades K-6. Although the original building no longer exists, the original location remains the same. Situated on 3.3 acres of land just a few blocks east of the city’s downtown, the present school, built in 1937, shares the name of the street on which it is located. Beginning in Fall 2007, New York offers a full-day kindergarten program.
