Established in 1869, New York Elementary School serves students in grades K-5 including a full-day kindergarten program. Although the original building no longer exists, the original location remains the same. Situated on 3.3 acres of land just a few blocks east of the city's downtown, the present school, built in 1937, shares the name of the street on which it is located.
