9.13Lawrence Public Schools offer a continuum of high-quality educational services for learners of all ages, from infants to adults.

The Parents as Teachers Program, located at the Centennial Adult Education Center, 2145 Louisiana St., serves families of children from birth to age three. A pre-kindergarten program is offered at Kennedy Elementary School, 1605 Davis Rd.

Fourteen elementary schools serve students in kindergarten through the fifth grade, while four middle schools serve students in grades six through eight. Two comprehensive high schools prepare students in grades 9-12 for post-secondary education and future careers.

The fastest-growing virtual school in the state of Kansas is the Lawrence Virtual School, serving students living anywhere in the state of Kansas in kindergarten through eighth grade. The Lawrence Virtual High School enrolls students in grades 9-12. The virtual schools and their teachers assist families in educating their children in the home using a high-quality, standards- and Web-based curriculum.

If you have an interest in adult education, the Centennial Adult Education Center, 2145 Louisiana St., offers instruction in basic reading and math skills, skill development for employment, G.E.D. Preparation and Testing, and English as a Second Language Services. Adults may earn a high school diploma through the Lawrence Diploma-Completion Program.
