2016-17 Vice President
I am excited and honored to serve our students and our community as a member of the Lawrence school board. Although our District faces many challenges, we have much to celebrate. I will work hard to carry on the tradition of excellence in our schools.
I grew up in western Kansas and earned my bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from KU, and then my law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. I gained invaluable experience working with public schools, first, as an attorney in private practice, and then as an education specialist at the Georgia Department of Education.
My husband, Jason, and I first came to Lawrence as students at KU. We returned to Lawrence several years ago to raise our family. We have two boys and a girl; our boys are students at Langston Hughes Elementary.
Thank you for your interest in Lawrence Public Schools. I encourage you to share your ideas and concerns with me.
