Action Steps:
1. Collaborate with Gould Evans Associates to assist in the facilitation of planning efforts in preparation for an April 2013 bond election. The planning efforts will document a development strategy balancing the many space, land use, academic and infrastructure needs of the school district, with a concern for responsible, sustainable and compatible growth for 21st century learning
a. Phase I – Research, gather and assemble information by meeting with stakeholders and conducting field observations
b. Phase II – Establish planning criteria and a community outreach effort
c. Develop and evaluate alternatives, taking into account budgets and cost estimates
d. Prepare a planning document and support graphics for bond approval. The comprehensive information to be presented will include goals and objectives, a summary of research, assessment of facilities, recommendations for long-term sustainability and comprehensive school and district alternatives
2. In coordination with planning for the April 2013 bond initiative, develop and implement a short- and long-range Capital Improvement Plan focused upon maintaining and improving facilities and grounds, furniture and equipment to meet the educational program needs of all students
